Mycelial monitoring for GitHub Actions — the network beneath your builds. A native macOS menu bar app with an iOS companion that keeps every workflow, runner, and billing minute one glance away.
What it does
The menu bar icon is a mushroom that changes colour with the health of your repos — a green cap when builds pass, red when they fail. Each repository gets its own colour scheme, so a glance at the bar tells you exactly where things stand without opening anything. When you do open it, live run status, runner health, and billing are all one click away.
Features
Continuously polls active runs across all of your repositories and surfaces their status in the menu bar.
Alerts fire only when a run changes state — pass to fail, fail to pass — so you're notified about what matters, not every tick.
See your runner machines at a glance: idle, busy, or offline, without digging through GitHub settings.
A System tab shows monthly Actions minute consumption so spend never sneaks up on you.
The iOS companion puts watched-repo status on your lock screen with a native widget — check your builds without launching anything. Requires iOS 17+.
Privacy by design
- No account, no signup: authenticate with a single read-only GitHub token
- Keychain-stored: your token lives in the macOS Keychain, never on a server
- No third parties: no analytics, no external backends — the app talks only to GitHub
- Sandboxed & code-signed: distributed as a notarised, sandboxed macOS app
Availability
Mycel is in active beta. The iOS companion is rolling out through TestFlight now, and the macOS app ships with a 7-day free trial covering up to 3 repositories. Requires macOS 14+ and iOS 17+.
